Questions
Everything people ask before they start
Designing your home
Is it really free?
Yes. Uploading a plan, generating the 3D, mixing materials and seeing the cost estimate are free for up to two projects, with no card. You pay when you want the people behind the prices — the suppliers, contractors and designers — or a desk on the IDZ floor.
See what each tier includes →What do I need before I start?
A floor plan. The developer's layout, an architect's PDF, or a clear photo of a printed plan all work — get all four corners in frame and keep the room labels legible. If you don't have one to hand, start from a library layout close to yours and switch to your own later.
Start from a library layout →How long does the 3D take?
About a minute in normal conditions, longer when the queue is busy. You can close the tab — the render keeps going and the project is waiting in your dashboard when you come back.
How accurate is the cost estimate?
It prices the products that are actually in your design, at the supplier prices we hold. That makes it a real materials-and-pieces number rather than a guess — but it is not a contractor's quotation. Hacking, wiring, plastering, site condition and labour all sit outside it and vary by unit. Treat the estimate as the number you negotiate from, not the number you sign.
Can I change things I don't like?
Yes. Click any piece in your render — a lamp, a cabinet, a chair — and swap it for another that still suits the style, then re-render and look again. The free tier allows 5 changes per design, which is a deliberate cap to keep the render queue usable for everyone.
Why are the supplier names hidden?
Because that is what the subscription is for. Prices stay open on every tier so you can plan honestly and know what your home costs before you commit to anything. The identity of who sells it, and the one-click introduction to them, is the paid part.
Compare the tiers →Do you do the renovation yourselves?
No. IDZ Studio is the platform in the middle. The design work, the supply and the build are done by the designers, suppliers and contractors you choose through it — and when you buy through the platform, the payment is protected and the purchase carries a warranty.
Who sees my floor plan?
Nothing leaves your account until you ask it to. Your plan and your design are used to generate and price your project; a supplier or contractor only sees it when you contact one, or when you submit the project for contractors to bid on.
Does this work outside Malaysia?
The tool will render any plan you give it, but the prices, the products and the partners are Malaysian — estimates come back in ringgit, from suppliers on our floor. Outside Malaysia you would get the design and a cost that means nothing locally.
Money and tiers
What does the free tier actually cover?
Two projects, in full: upload the plan, generate the 3D, mix and match materials and furniture, see the live cost estimate, and submit the project for contractors to bid on. No card, and nothing expires on you mid-design. A third project moves you to Pro.
What is the RM 50 day pass?
A one-off payment for one day on the IDZ co-working floor: a hot desk, access to the physical material library, and one guided revision with the team sitting beside you. The free design tier is included in it.
How much is Pro?
The monthly price is being finalised and we would rather publish nothing than publish a number that moves. Ask us and you will get the current figure, in writing, before you are asked to pay anything.
Ask about Pro →What does 'payment protected' mean?
When you buy through the platform rather than off-platform, the money runs through IDZ Studio against the order on record, and the purchase carries a warranty. Pay a supplier directly outside the platform and neither of those applies.
Designers, contractors and suppliers
Who can join as a partner?
Interior designers, renovation contractors and material or furniture suppliers. Each gets its own portal: designers work in the AI Studio and send proposals, contractors receive briefs and manage jobs, suppliers keep their catalogue, quote samples and take orders.
What each portal does →How do leads actually reach me?
A homeowner designs a project, then either contacts a partner directly or submits the project for contractors to bid. Either way it arrives in your portal as a brief with the rooms, the style, the design and the estimate already attached — not a name and a phone number to cold-call.
What does it cost to be on the platform?
Partner access sits on the Pro tier, whose monthly price is being finalised — talk to us and we will tell you exactly where it lands before you commit to anything. Public promotion of your profile is charged separately as advertising.
Talk to us →Do I have to sell at your prices?
No. Suppliers maintain their own catalogue and their own prices in the supplier portal, and those are the prices homeowners see in the estimate. We do not set them and we do not mark them up inside the design tool.
What is the co-working floor?
A working space on the IDZ floor with the physical material library next to it. Pro includes a hot desk for the month; a day pass buys one day of the same thing. It exists so a designer can bring a client in, pull the real samples off the shelf and finish the conversation in person.

Ask us the one that isn't here
A real person reads it. If the answer is 'no, we don't do that', you will get that answer rather than a call-back to talk around it.
